Dubrovnik Event Christmas Party: Our Holiday Glow Up and Office Magic

If you have been around here long enough, you know we will find any excuse to celebrate.
Weddings, engagements, Tuesdays… we are not picky.

So when December rolls around?
Oh darling, we transform.

Christmas at Dubrovnik Event is not a season. It is a full personality. The moment the wedding season ends, the candles appear, fairy lights slip into corners as if by magic, and someone softly suggests (read: Matea) “Should we decorate the office?” even though it is just the beginning of October. We do not ease into the holidays. We enter with champagne energy.

It always begins with one spark of inspiration. A colour, a texture, a tiny idea that grows into an entire world. Before we know it, our office becomes a warm blend of Adriatic winter and festive glamour. You walk in, inhale pine and cinnamon, and immediately feel compelled to ask what we are pouring.

….it all starts with the moodboard

Last year’s office was truly unforgettable. The idea was to create a forest, and since bows were having their moment, we knew they needed a place to shine. The focal point was a dramatic branch installation, where we hung our branding bags. The idea for the branch was beautifully simple. Matea saw it, wanted it, and that was all it took. Creativity at its purest and funniest form.

Decorating the office is a must, but the office party is the tradition that ties everything together. And yes, you already know we are a we drink, we dance, we party kind of crew, so this night is always our personal event of the year. A celebration of good times and even better people.

And of course, the drinks are part of our DNA. There was rakija that warmed even the coldest December soul, and if you know us well, you know our famous saying, S jednom se šepa. Literally translated, With just one, it kind of limps along, meaning you cannot have only one rakija, because no one walks on one leg. The rakija station is a non negotiable.

And the cocktails? Naturally, Ines created prebatched Christmas-infused vodka cocktails that became the hit of the night. These batches were designed, tested, and perfected with the kind of dedication only a true holiday lover understands. Yes, we tested them. Thoroughly. They tasted like Christmas in a glass, kissed by just the right amount of mischief.

And because we refuse to do anything halfway, the ice alone deserved its own drumroll. Picture this. Perfectly round cubes, crystal clear, each one holding a tiny festive universe of rosemary, cranberry, and citrus like it was born to be photographed. These weren’t ice cubes. These were icy little ornaments. Tiny frozen celebrations. The type of detail that makes guests hold their drink up to the light and whisper oh, come on.

And the glasses? Christmas ornament-shaped beauties that made everyone feel like they were sipping out of decor. Because at Dubrovnik Event, even hydration is an aesthetic experience.

Since we are event planners to our core, we also planned for the morning after. Homemade personalised hangover shots, labelled with love and warnings, waited patiently to rescue everyone the next day.

Is it extra? Absolutely. Is it iconic? Without a single doubt.

And then came the moment no one expected. One of our vendors appeared late into the night with a surprise that still makes us smile. He arrived with local musicians, the kind whose rhythms carry the heart of Dubrovnik in every note. The second they stepped inside, the entire room erupted. People danced, people sang, people hugged one another like they had known each other for a lifetime. It was wild and warm and completely unforgettable. A moment that reminded us just how deep our connections with our vendors run. They are not just colleagues. They are part of our story, and they show up for us in the most beautiful ways. It felt as if the spirit of the city walked straight into our party.

But beyond the twinkle lights and the clinking glasses, the heart of our Christmas celebration is always the same. It is our moment to slow down and look at one another with real gratitude. Another year of breathtaking weddings, emotional vows, wild timelines, beautiful chaos, and a team that carried it all with talent and heart. We celebrate the couples who trusted us, the vendors who supported us, and the people in this office who turn every idea into a moment worth remembering.

Christmas is our pause. Our breath. Our reminder that before we begin another season of love stories, we must honour our own story too.

And yes, this year’s glow up is already quietly taking shape. The moodboard is forming. A few cocktail experiments have already been bravely tested. The office is starting its slow shift toward that familiar December sparkle.
